Golf courses get a bad press

BBC NEWS | Scotland | How green is your golf course?

The argument is often put forward that golf course aren’t environmentally friendly. All I can say to that is that I’ve seen more wildlife on the golf course that I’ve seen anywhere else. At our club we have foxes, deer, woodpeckers, sparrow hawks, weasels, adders, jays and of course rabbits. I’ve seen a weasel chase a baby rabbit out onto the course and kill it less than twenty feet in front of me (not very nice but you know what I mean). I’d never seen an adder until I saw one up close on the 16th tee. I’m sure there’s lots of other stuff there that I’ve yet to see.
