That’s better

BBC Sport – Tottenham 3-1 Swansea.

It’s not often Tottenham have less possession that teams but Swansea made us work hard as they kept the ball for periods of the game. We worked hard though and pressed them at every opportunity and luckily Gareth Bale was up for it and he ran their full back ragged. Of course their keeper played well whilst ours, for all Swansea’s possession wasn’t troubled in the first half. We took the lead with a brilliant finish from VdV and we looked all set in the second half to score a few goals. It wouldn’t be the same though with Tottenham if they didn’t wind us up and Swansea started the second half much stronger and we let them right back in the game. Friedel had to make his first save of the game and shortly afterwards we conceded when we were all over the place. Up steps Gareth Bale and he really took the game to them. Adebayor scored to headers and he deserved it after the work he’d put in and in truth we could’ve had a couple more. Swansea definitely played their part in the game but in the end we just had a little more quality than them. Now there’s nothing in our run in that we shouldn’t be able to deal with. Then again, it is Tottenham we’re talking about.

I hope they are scared

BBC – Iain Carter: Woods’ return to winning ways comes at the right time.

Most of the top players were missing from this tournament but it was still a strong field on a hard golf course and so Tiger gets his first tour win since his shagfest. As stated on many occasions golf needs Tiger because as technically proficient as the top players are they are all as dull as dishwater and have had it their way for too long. I hoped they’re scared. It makes the Masters so much more interesting and I’m looking forward to it now.

All very hurtful

BBC Sport – Chelsea 0-0 Tottenham.

As a  Tottenham fan I like to moan and complain about the team. It’s part and parcel of the job. When someone else does it however, it hurts. Gary Neville said at the weekend we seem like the flaky Spurs he always used to play against, the team Utd could always get to, could always soften up and in the end nearly always beat. Of course, (this is what hurts), he’s absolutely right. The last two games against Stoke and Chelsea we’ve got a point but really we’ve reverted to type. Against Chelsea we should’ve won if you measure it on the chances we had but overall we were poor. Chaotic tactically, weak mentally and poor in attitude. However how much everyone keeps going on about how good our football has been this season, that is really something people have said about us for years and good football isn’t the whole part of the game. As always not really sure what we can change given this squad of players looked at one point of being capable of being a decent team. Something has just go lost of the cracks. We’ll see tonight if we can turn it around because as a cup triumph is as always looking our best bet for glory.
