You have to say that’s magnificent

Europe won the Ryder Cup easily 18 1/2 9 1/2 win Monty holing the winning putt. Spurs kept their unbeaten run going with a 0-0 draw at Chelsea and Arsenal dropped their first points of the season. Magnificent !

BBC SPORT | Football | Internationals | Poland 1-2 England

England got a deserved victory against Poland to see off some of their critics in the press. There were flaws in the performance especially after we took the lead but the second half performance whereby we took the game to the Poles, meant Robinson hardly had a thing to do. Dafoe was excellent as were Bridge and Cole.

The media in all it’s glory

Times Online - Newspaper Edition

The media have got it in for Sven. Individual player errors can cost you games and England did more than enough to win on Saturday, yet it’s all Sven’s fault apparently. On the same line Nick Robinson is the political editor of ITV News and his reports are normally done in a sneering, sarcastic manner. In the above article he talks about John Lloyd’s book “What the Media are Doing to Our Politics” which I’m going to get for my holiday reading. The media can’t seem to accept that they may be the problem and that it’s not their job to hound people from their jobs whether it’s in politics or football.
