BBC SPORT | Golf | Woods set for Open hat-trick bid

I can’t see Tiger being beaten in this year’s Open.

Golfing glory (well almost)

Played at Knebworth with the Royal Oak and scored 38 points and hit the ball really quite well. Blew it on the greens, however, as I three putted twice on the back nine and missed four putts from 4 feet or less including a birdie chance at the last. That missed putt on the 18th would’ve won it for me. At least it boosted my tally for Player of the Year.

More disappointment on Captain’s Day

Played really well for eleven holes on Captain’s Day amassing 24 points only to blob the 12th and lose the golfing plot. Finished with 35 points although 41 points won it and I don’t think I could’ve beaten that.

Top 40 golfer again

I managed to qualify for the second round of the club championship at Mill Green on Saturday with an 81. Slumped to an 89 the next day. The others must’ve been bad.

BBC NEWS | Business | Equity firm targets Virgin Media

The Virgin Media takeover of NTL hasn’t really improved the service and this shows that all Virgin were interested in was buying the company and selling it on. Everybody thinks Branson is a good egg but in the end he’s only in it for the money.

Golfing nadir

I played for the club yesterday again Redbourn and we got beaten by a pair who were 71 and 73 years old . I didn’t think my golf could get any lower but somehow it did yesterday.
